Mixed Show Choir will rehearse every Tuesday that MCS is in session. Women's Show Choir will have its first rehearsal on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 6:00 a.m. Women's Show Choir will rehearse every Thursday that MCS is in session. Be sure to arrive EARLY. 7-9 – Monday-Wednesday – HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS LGPE – Location TBA 2010-2011 Blue Devil Show Choir AuditionsAuditioning for the 2010-2011 Blue Devil Show Choir is a three day process, which will be held Tuesday through Thursday, May 11-13, 2010 from 6:00 a.m.-7:15 a.m. in the Choir Room (B-215). The audition consists of: 1. Complete all paperwork and submit the $25 audition fee, 2. Sing a prepared solo piece with soundtrack, 3. Independently learn an a cappella 4-part piece from a sound file, and 4. Learn the choreography taught during the audition workshop.
1. Be registered in a MHS Chorus class, and must commit to place registering for choir above any other non-core class. 2. Commit to attending rehearsals every Tuesday and Thursday that MCS is in session from 6:00 a.m.-7:15 a.m. 3. Commit to attending a 5-hour rehearsal one weekend each month. 4. Pay a $100/year to help cover costs of uniforms, music, soundtracks, choreography, and so forth ($25 is due the first day of the audition, $25 upon acceptance into the Show Choir, $25 the first day of fall semester, and $25 at the end of October). 5. Have a strong work ethic, cooperative spirit, and positive attitude. EMERGENCY Show Choir Uniform CleaningMr. Morisco will be responsible for cleaning all show choir uniforms; however, if you have an EMERGENCY situation, it is OK to HAND WASH both the women's dresses and the men's shirts. It is OK to use a washing machine, if it has a HAND WASH setting. Use Woolite and COLD water.
Place on a hanger to dry. DO NOT DRY IN DRYER. DO NOT IRON. The uniforms are 100% polyester and they will MELT. Women, before washing your dress, turn your it inside-out, and zip it, to prevent the sequins from coming off. REMEMBER: This is ONLY for an EMERGENCY situation.
